EARTH LOOMS . .

In this fast-paced, technologically driven society, we are being encouraged to seek ways of engaging children in the natural world.  As a designer and carpenter my work with Living Willow Lincoln is set to inspire children of all ages.  Whether through science, art or imagination, my installations will intrigue and excite.

Earth looms are fixed wooden structures that are strung to create a loom.  Using traditional fibres like wool, cloth and string as well as vines, sticks, grasses and reeds that might be found a seasonal canvas can evolve. Children of all ages and abilities love to weave. The collaborative nature of such an installation is important, as is the opportunity to look back on parts that each individual created.  The looms are a fantastic way to incorporate creative arts into your school, their strength lies in bringing the artistic and natural worlds together.
